MR Cheesecake started with our family. We enjoy making food together - cooking dinners and making desserts. We had a passion for enjoying food before "being foodies" was a thing.
Cheesecakes were something we could be creative with. Our daughter wanted cheesecake for her wedding of 250 people. Exploring options, it made more sense to make mini-cheesecakes. Research and development happened organically. The team included family and friends who sampled each flavor and provided feedback. Two of those friends happened to be local business owners. Once production was ironed out, they decided to order!

The next step was to decide on a name for the business. Many options were discussed, but it was not until I went in for a haircut that the name was born. My stylist suggested "MR Cheesecake." It seemed to be sort of ordinary at first, then she said, "Don't you get it? M.R. for 'Mark Ritchie'".

The more the name was shared with family and friends, the more it seemed to stick. MR Cheesecake was born.
